BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROVIDER ~ HEALTH ~ $DOQ ~ JOB CODE:  09-018        Closes: February 13, 2009
This position will provide behavioral health services to women and children, who have been referred to them by the primary medical provider. Services generally include screening; assessments, diagnosis, and routine management of patients with mental health substances use disorder problems.  QUALIFICATIONS: LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, Licensed Psychologists or Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Minimum two (2) years experience in behavioral health, acute care or managed care.  Must have knowledge regarding substance abuse treatment, trauma and generational/historical trauma. Solid understanding of different levels of care in behavioral health.

Perform a variety of tasks related to repair and maintenance of all universal plumbing systems and fixtures including gas-fired equipment.  QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Demonstrate experience as a plumber/gas technician and perform all duties related to a pluming journeyperson. General knowledge of other construction trades such as: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and heavy-duty equipment. Must have the ability to maintain project and work records.  Must have the ability to meet and communicate with people, vendors and suppliers. Must have a basic knowledge of Reservation residents and resources.  

HAZARDOUS WASTE TECHNICIAN ~ DRM ~ $15.91/hr ~ JOB CODE: 09-016 Closes: February 06, 2009
To assist the Environmental Department in identifying contamination and assessing sites that may impact human health and the environment.  QUALIFICATIONS: Course work at a junior college or university level in: environmental science, hydrology, surveying, geology, chemistry or other related field. Knowledge of computers and software such as Word and Arc View GIS software.  Must have the ability to complete the 40-hour OSHA HAZ MAT Certification within two months of hire.  NEPA and ASTM E 1527 Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments.

Assists clients with applications and screening for eligibility of publicly funded health care programs.  QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, post-secondary education preferred.  Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid, Veterans Administration, Social Security Administration, County Human Services Offices, Tribal Programs and other related agencies policies and procedures.  Must have the ability and skill to interview patients in-depth in order to determine eligibility of alternate funding.  Basic knowledge of establishing registers of eligible patients in varied progress.

To provide quality diabetes related patient education and nursing services to the people of the Leech Lake Reservation.  QUALIFICATIONS: Current MN licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).  Must have Current CPR certification.  Experience in diabetes care and basic education.  Phlebotomy experience.  Must have a basic understanding of Type II diabetes; e.g., path physiology, treatment options, Diabetes Standard of Care, health promotion and disease prevention.    

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SPECIALIST ~ HEALTH ~ DOQ ~ JOB CODE: 09-013 Closes: February 06, 2009
This position will provide suicide prevention education and outreach activities. QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS required in social work, psychology, sociology or related field. MA/MS preferred. Previous work experience in public health education and/or mental health. At least two years of successful work experience with Leech Lake Reservation or Anishinaabe culture and traditions within American Indian Reservations. Ability to assist communities of Leech Lake Reservation to develop a community safety network for prevention awareness through education and outreach activities.

EMT ADMINITRATIVE ASSISTANT ~ HEALTH ~ DOQ ~ JOB CODE: 09-012 Closes: February 06, 2009
Performs a range of basic office support activities for the department, such as answering and directing phones calls, answering questions and performing routine clerical work as required. Supply/storage room inventory. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred. EMT work experience required. Current Emergency Medical Technician and current CPR certification. Word processing and/or data entry skills required. Skills in the basic use of office equipment. Computer skills are mandatory to perform job duties such as the ability to prepare and print routine correspondence, labels, maintain calendars and schedule appointments. MNDOT Instructor Certification or ability to obtain. Understanding and sensitivity to Native American culture.

ALLOTMENT & ESTATE COORDINATOR ~ DRM ~ DOQ ~ JOB CODE: 09-011 Closes: February 06, 2009
Responsible for performing various functions within the reservation’s land department which encompasses tribal allotted and fee land. QUALIFICATIONS:  Four year degree in Business Management or Four years experience in land related field. Must have knowledge and ability to apply the Real Estate principles and practices as they relate to acquisitions and disposal policies. Land acquisition program of fee and trust or restricted Indian lands, fee to trust, trust to trust, leasing, right’s of way, sand and gravel permits, providing and assisting individual tribal heirs on land information. Identification and preparations, maintenance and distribution of reservations land status maps and land status plat books. Knowledge of laws and regulations of the BIA/MCT and Leech Lake Reservations governing use of Indian lands, State Real Estate Law and various county, township and city zoning regulations.

Two locations: SPECIFY ON APPLICATION: Che-We Convenience Store, Cass Lake and/or Northern Lights Express Convenience Store, Walker Provide assistance and support to the Managers by coordinating C-Store services, to include: cashier duties, store cleaning and stocking.  QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred. Zero to One (1) year of experience.  Computer knowledge helpful but not required.  Excellent customer service, organizational, verbal communication and writing skills.  Strong analytical and problem solving skills are helpful. No driver’s license required.

GUARDIANSHIP/ADOPTION SPECIALIST ~ HUMAN SERVICES ~ DOQ ~ JOB CODE: 09-005 Closes: February 13, 2009
Provides supportive services to the Leech Lake Child Welfare Program and the Leech Lake Tribal Court in guardianship and adoption cases. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field. Two years experience working in a Human Services field and working within the Leech Lake Reservation Community. Familiarity with Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe programs, Human Service Agencies and surrounding communities. Knowledge and understanding of the Indian Child Welfare Act, Minnesota Indian Family Preservation Act. Knowledgeable of the current Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Licensing Requirements for Foster Care, State Foster Care licensing standards/statutes and the Indian Child Welfare Act. Must pass a criminal back ground check.

THERAPEUTIC CASE MANAGER ~ HUMAN SERVICES ~ DOQ ~ JOB CODE: 09-004 Closes: February 13, 2009
Leads the foster care team to serve foster care children in need of therapeutic services. Responsible for coordinating services and to assist with implementing, monitoring, facilitating interdisciplinary approaches and evaluation of plan progress. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or behavioral health field; or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Two years experience working in a clinical setting for medically/emotionally fragile child placements. Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Registered Nurse preferred. One year experience preferred working with emotionally impaired children and adolescents. Knowledge and understanding of the Indian Child Welfare Act, HIPPA and confidentiality. Understanding of mental illness symptoms and EBD diagnosis. Understanding of behavior planning. Must pass a criminal back ground check.

Performs professional social work for senior citizens and/or families to obtain health, financial and social services. Provides assessments and develops and implements case management plans. QUALIFICATIONS: BS Degree in Social Work. Licensed Social Worker with experience in; social, elderly, family and youth services. Must be knowledgeable of; Long Term Care, Alternative Care, Elderly Waiver, CAC, CADI,DD and TBI services and be able to work with sensibility and respect with Anishinbe families.
